Join us Saturday, February 9th at 7:00 p.m. at the MCHS Auditorium for a live performance by The Hunts – parents and their seven children fiddling and step dancing.
The Hunts are an indie-folk band from the southlands of Chesapeake, Virginia. These seven brothers and sisters have a passion for creating compelling music and so, have collaborated one another’s gifts of writing, composing and musicianship to endeavor that. Stringed instruments, surrounded by enchanting harmonies and thrilling rhythms harken to an organic yet transcending sound.
The Hunts have toured the country and world wide for over 10 years. In November of 2012, the Hunts released their newest album “We Were Young,” which was produced by 13 time Grammy nominee; Mark Carman. We Were Young features 10 original songs that each tell their own tale of youthful memories, conquering fears, aching hearts and inspiring journeys. The Hunts first track on the album; “Make This Leap” is already receiving regional radio play on the east coast.
The Hunts also have a deep love for missions work. In the summer of 2012, the seven hunt siblings travelled to an orphanage in the land of Haiti and organized a two week music camp for over 100 haitian children. They look forward to returning to their friends there and traveling to other nations as well.
You can watch videos of their trips on youtube, find their music on iTunes, follow them on twitter and get a closer look into their entertaining lives on their Facebook page.
